'Perfect' run at Aviemore in the snow

Aviemore's ParkRunners have reported a "lovely morning" at the popular course for the event's 219th outing.

A fresh dusting of snow made for the perfect run, the Strathy has been told.

"There were lots of visitors due to the school holidays, which was great to see.

"People had travelled from Keswick, Carlisle, Fife and Edinburgh to participate."

The run – or jog, or walk, depending on taste – is open to all and starts every Saturday morning at 9.30.

Today saw 70 participants, of whom 26 were first-timers.

There were five new personal bests recorded, with16 different clubs represented.

The event was made possible by a team of 11 volunteers:

Mags McHardy, Mike Causey, Lucy Boules, Alethea McHardy, Hilary Quick, Bill Dewitt, Dawn Cranston, Lynsey Whyte, Sue Oxley, Vickie Rampton and Alice Clubb.

Aviemore parkrun started on May 6, 2017 and has since seen 6,459 participants complete 15,011 parkruns covering a total distance of 75,055 km.
