A combination of Covid and the cost of ‘everything spiralling’ has cost Grantown another of its popular High Street shops.

‘Sandwitches’ has closed after four-and-a-half years on the High Street.

Owner Caroline Wood said: “I couldn’t keep putting prices up to cover them knowing folks are struggling to afford things and sadly couldn’t absorb the rising costs myself any more.

“It was a tough decision but for the sake of my family I needed a job that I’d get a wage from.

I’m happy to join the staff at Walkers in the town, a great family run business on my doorstep.”

Ms Wood added: "We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported our wee family business whether you’ve been a customer, liked and shared my Facebook posts or simply recommended us.

"We have had a complete roller coaster of a journey with Covid throwing a complete curveball."
