Strathy readers have been set a wee festive challenge by one of our contributors after finding this nostalgic – and slightly fading– photo.

"I think it was the end of the 1970s or very early 1980s and I thought it would be fun for a lot of your readers, naming as many of these pupils as they can after all these years.

"It's fascinating wondering just where they are all now, what they're doing and how many have little children of their own today."

These bright young things waiting for Santa's visit were gathered at Alvie Primary School.

No prizes, just a stocking full of memories.
