Inverness chef threatened to burn down Kingussie pub, court hears

A sous chef threatened to burn down a pub in Kingussie during an angry outburst, a court has heard.

Callum Hilson (27) shouted and swore at an employee of the town's Tipsy Laird as well as banging on a window and door before making the threat.

He admitted acting in the threatening and abusive manner at the High Street bar and restaurant on May 22, 2019 when he appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Hilson, of Kilmuir Road, Inverness, also admitted a number of driving offences.

He pled guilty to driving on the B9152 road between Kingussie and Kincraig on May 26 last year with only a provisional licence, no insurance and while in the possession of cannabis.

Sentence was deferred for the preparation of background reports until January 12.

Hilson was released on bail.
