After providing daily updates of the total confirmed coronavirus cases for each NHS board area in Scotland for the past three months, there are no figures for NHS Highland today.

The Scottish Government has been publishing figures throughout lockdown but has stated the latest information might not be shared with the public until Thursday.

It says that, as of today, it is adding confirmed cases at UK government regional testing centres (RTCs) – such as the one at Inverness Campus – to figures usually provided from NHS Scotland labs.

A Scottish Government spokesman said: "As per the statement on the daily data page, the breakdown is being updated by Public Health Scotland to include UK government lab results and will be updated on or before Thursday when the data has been validated."

It has national figures:

There were 29 new cases in the past 24 hours, nine of which were at RTCs.

The total number of cases since the start of the outbreak is now 18,030, with 2343 at RTCs. Yesterday's reported figure was 15,755.

And 2448 people who tested positive have died across the country since the outbreak began – no change on the same point yesterday.

The Scottish Government also stressed in relation to the number of coronavirus cases: "This will be an underestimate of the number of cases. Not everyone with the virus will display symptoms and not all those with symptoms will be tested."

Yesterday, NHS Highland's overall tally of cases was 341 and unchanged for the third day in a row. The number of people being treated in its hospitals with suspected or confirmed Covid-19 is still seven, while the number of people in intensive care is still fewer than five.
