The next meeting of volunteer organisations in Badenoch and Strathspey will take place later this week.
There will be a chance to network with other organisations at the online meeting on Wednesday (February 2).
Mairi Brown, VABS (Voluntary Action in Badenoch and Strathspey) community development officer, said: "December was a busy month for volunteering activities at VABS.
"We hosted an online forum for local volunteering organisations to discuss and share with each other the challenges of recruiting and retaining volunteers during this time.
"For every place or community, you look or visit, we can see the impact volunteers have had in the area.
"Volunteers are the cornerstones of every village in the strath. Where would our communities be without them?
"Richer, I suspect not, more supported and better places to live, we know so.
"Volunteering for anyone who has been involved in any kind is a subtle act of kindness to society which can enrich oneself as well as our communities.
"The pandemic has absolutely shown that, as we continue to cope with it.
"Organisation from as far south as Dalwhinnie and east towards Cromdale and Advie rely heavily on people stepping forward to make things happen, and keep them going.
"Whether it’s your passion that drives you, you care for your community or simple humanity, without volunteers there would be huge gaps in our social support and structures."
VABS recent inaugural Volunteer Forum saw local organisations come together to discuss the barriers to people coming forward to volunteer at the moment.
It generated some new ideas of increasing people’s awareness of volunteering opportunities and lots more.
The next meeting on Wednesday starts at 2pm and is online via Zoom.
