Callum Macaulay, Craig Dawson, Drew Howie and Chris Doak after making the Quarter Final Draw for the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup

The draw for the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup has seen Newtonmore given a home draw and the Kings play away should they progress this weekend.

It was made by Hydro sponsored professional golfers Callum Macaulay and Chris Doak at the Spey Valley Golf Course in Aviemore as the Scottish Hydro Challenge got underway.

Also in attendance at the draw were Craig Dawson from Kingussie and Lovat’s Drew Howie.

Dawson said, “First and foremost we have our second round replay match against Kinlochshiel before we can look to the quarters.

"This is the competition everyone in shinty wants to win and hopefully if we can maintain some good form, we can progress.”

Drew Howie added, “As Craig said, this is the one we all want to have in the trophy cabinet at the end of the season.

"Lovat have so far put out some strong performances against big teams this season, but there are no easy ties from now on in, we will just have to play as well as we can do in the hope that that will be enough.”

The draw was as follows: Newtonmore V Lochaber, Lovat V Kingussie or Kinlochshiel, Skye V Kyles Athletic or GMA and Kilmallie V Inveraray.

The matches will takes place on Saturday 14 July, with the dinal set for Saturday 15 September at Mossfield Park, Oban.
