Police confirm body found near Grantown has been identified

The Strathy has been told that a body found in the Lochindorb area yesterday has now been formally identified.

"Formal ID has been carried out," a spokesperson for the force confirmed earlier today.

It is understood to be Patrick Mills (86) for whom a search had been initiated after he was last seen in the Nairn area on Monday.

Mr Mills' family have been informed and the media have been asked to respect their privacy.

There are understood to have been no suspicious circumstances but no further details about the discovery have as yet been released.
