Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival has unveiled two headliners for next year's event – as tickets go on sale today (Nov 18) at noon – Travis and Sigrid.

Travis returns to headline on the Saturday.

Travis – one of the best-loved Scottish indie bands – will close the festival on the Saturday night.

And Norwegian singer Sigrid – winner of the BBC Sound Of 2018 – will headline the Thursday night.

The traditional joke with Travis is that rain will be guaranteed when they play Why Does It Always Rain On Me, but hopefully the sunny sound of their hits such as Turn, Driftwood and Writing To Reach You will take care of any weather issues!

The band recently wrapped up a world tour in the USA, performing their four-times platinum their album, The Invisible Band.

Over the years, the band has released nine studio albums including their most recent 2020 offering 10 Songs.

Having last headlined the festival back in 2012, Travis are guaranteed to provide the perfect singalong finale to Bella’s 21st outing.

Sigrid makes her Belladrum debut, headlining on the Thursday night.

Sigrid has been making waves as one of the most exciting new pop acts of recent years and has delivered standout performances at festivals up and down the country from Glastonbury to TRNSMT.

But she will be making her debut at Belladrum.

Standout tracks from her first album included Don’t Kill My Vibe and Strangers, while 2022 saw her collaborate with Griff on the track Head On Fire and Bring Me The Horizon on Bad Life.

Event producer Dougie Brown said: "We are delighted to announce the first acts set to join us next summer. Travis provided one of the standout Belladrum headline performances way back in 2012 and we can’t wait to bring them back to the Highlands in 2023.

"Sigrid is an incredible live act and we are very excited to bring her to Bella for her first UK festival headline performance.

"Across the bill there is a mixture of firm Bella favourites alongside some exciting news acts and there is still so much more to come in the following months!"

Sam Ryder will appear after last year's postponed slot.

Other acts featuring in the festival's first announcement include; an act which needs no introduction, the one and only Peat & Diesel; Tik-Tok sensation and Eurovison runner up Sam Ryder; actor (star of 24 and The Lost Boys), and country musician Kiefer Sutherland; multi-award winning neo-trad quintet Elephant Sessions; contemporary Irish folk group The Mary Wallopers; Celtic-Rock group Skerryvore; Scottish Indie New-Wave band The Embargo; The Bluebells; Tom McGuire & The Brassholes, the funk soul powerhouse from Glasgow; and bringing their high energy punk rock covers Punk Rock Factory.

Also set to join the music line-up over the weekend are Highland favourites Torridon; a Ghanaian xylophone master bringing his band, Isaac Birituro & The Rail Abandon; Scottish indie-folk star Rachel Sermanni; winner of BBC2’s best part-time band the Ska juggernaut Bombskare; rising singer-songwriter Nati Dreddd; Glasgow four- piece Dead Pony; singer-songwriter Rory Butler; roots reggae act Riddemption.

Making their Bella debut Howlin’ Ric & The Rocketeers will bring their take on rock & roll and rhythm & blues; Scandanavian folk act Blood Harmony; two Bella favourites The Dangleberries and Rhythmnreel will also make a welcome return.

Final acts rounding up the initial announcement are folk act Calum Macphail Band, Inverness band Into The Pines, Highland singer-songwriter Dylan Tierney, and two acts set to open the Grassroots stage on Friday and Saturday respectively, Feis Rois Ceilidh Trail and Fiddle Forte.

Further announcements including the festival’s third headliner will be released in the coming weeks.
