"Cold morning with frost and ice," it confirmed.

"Hard packed snow on side roads

"Treating routes by priority – drive with care."

The neighbouring Inverness roads are still icy, the 6.29am report confirmed.

"Icy patches at any seepage on low roads, one inch covering of old frozen snow between wheel tracks on high ground side roads, gritters out treating all routes."

"The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff and is intended to give a general indication of typical conditions in each area at a point in time.

"It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling."

The UK Met Office currently has a yellow weather warning in place for snow and ice for large areas within the Highland region.
