Badenoch and Strathspey roads treated this morning as temperatures fall

Highland Council's road conditions report issued this morning at 8.51 confirmed that precautionary treatments had taken place due to the risk of ice.

On the surrounding routes of Inverness and Nairn the policy had been the same, especially on the A831 as temperatures were close to freezing.

"But road surface temperatures are mostly positive in the area," a spokesperson said.

All weather warnings for the Highlands are available on the Met Office website.

No schools or nurseries were closed today as a result of bad weather.
