"Our community groups need you to get involved to help them deliver their vital services," said Mairi Brown, of organisers Voluntary Action in Badenoch and Strathspey.

"VABS are very fortunate to have some absolutely fantastic organisations helping our communities to thrive and nurture the strath's people and places – but they need more folk to get involved. The impact of Covid has been really challenging to them.

"This public event is a call for help aimed at people living in our communities, can you help out, do you have some skills, experience to share and most importantly, do you have spare time? "Whether you are interested in conservation work, supporting our elderly, local history, music, pass on your sporting skills, drive for a local minibus there will be endless volunteering opportunities to browse at and meet staff and other volunteers."

The day is shaping up to be a friendly warm place to be, Kingussie Guides are running a creative

corner so children can happily be taken along while the family talks to some of the local groups who will be set up in the ballroom.

"Thanks to Highland Council's ward discretionary fund we have refreshments and food throughout the day," said Mairi.

"We will also have short 20 minute presentations offering some more insight to some of the work done by Caberfeidh Horizons, Therapy Gardens, Saving Wildcats, Girlguiding, Plantlife and Active Schools."

Doors will be open from 10 -3pm.
