World comes to Aviemore!

Today's big ParkRun outing – numbering 71 overall – brought participants from around the globe together.

Run director Pete Wright told the Strathy: "Both sides of the planet were reprsented. Quite apart from around the UK, with folk from Aviemore, Coventry, Devon and London, there were pelople here from Canada and even Australia.

"The visitors certainly outnumbered the local runners, with 58 of them coming from outwith Badenoch and Stratnspey."

First over the line was David Pettit from Derbyshire, a first time visitor.

Renata Koch's story was especially interesting. The ParkRun tourist, visiting from Sydney, was on her way to Copenhagen, with a visit family on Poland also on the agenda.

"Now says that she can answer the question over where the most beautiful ParkRun it. She agreed it is Aviemore!"

The runners were all grateful to the volunteers who made this event happen:
