A notice was posted last night on social media confirming: "Due to heavy snow in Cairngorm our bus is currently stuck in snow and is unable to move.

"Our 30 service is currently suspended until further notice.

"Apologies for any inconvenience caused."

It was in the summer that the new Aviemore Adventurer hit the road running.

The new dedicated bus link now connects Aviemore and Cairngorm Mountain on a much more frequent basis than earlier, including the weekends.

Stagecoach reported at the time that the early feedback has been very positive since the service – which sports its own special livery – started running on Monday May 22.

David Beaton, managing director of Stagecoach North Scotland said: “We’re delighted with the first week of service for the Aviemore Adventurer.

Grounded: the Aviemore Adventure hit the ground running in the summer but will have to wait now until the snow eases on the Ski Road.

“We’ve had some great feedback so far and around 300 passenger journeys over the weekend."

Stagecoach told the Strathy this morning that an update would be issued in due course.
