Police raided a 23 year old Aviemore man's home after receiving intelligence that he was in possession of indecent images of children.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that the raid took place on March 9, last year, at Corbett Place – the home of first offender Levente Kovacs.

Fiscal depute Robert Weir told Sheriff Gary Aitken that several devices were seized by the police and a subsequent analysis of an iPhone revealed a total of 50 images of girls between the age of four and 13.

Mr Weir told the court they were all thumbnails, not accessible to the user and 12 of them were the most extreme.

Kovacs admitted downloading the images.

He was immediately placed on the Sex Offender's Register, had his bail continued and ordered to return to court for sentence on June 12.

In the meantime a background report will be prepared which will include an assessment for a sex offender's programme.
