Police decided to check two people at a car in Nairn following intelligence that they were involved in drug dealing.

It was May 4, 2021 and officers saw 46 year old Nicholas Gardiner of Craigellachie Crescent, Aviemore, talking to Natasha Ainslie.

Fiscal depute Victoria Silver told Inverness Sheriff Court earlier today that both appeared to be nervous and Gardiner agitated.

The police obtained search warrants for Gardiner's property and Ainslie's home in Clova Crescent, Nairn, which was checked first.

Jars of herbal cannabis, grinders and mobile phones were recovered which indicated that Gardiner had been involved in dealing between November 25, 2019 and April 19, 2021.

They then searched his house and herbal cannabis and a plant were recovered, with a potential street value of £280.

Gardiner, who admitted being concerned in drug supply, had sentence deferred until October 17 for a background report.

Ainslie, who pleaded guilty to cannabis possession, was ordered to return on the same date for sentencing.
