Some have struggled to pronounce the town's name correctly – mostly notably on the national train network.

But now it appears that the leading authority on the English language can not even spell Kingussie.

The Badenoch capital got a nice plug – kind of – on last night's late weather bulletin after the BBC's 10pm news showing a snowy country road scene.

The only problem was that the location accompanying the lovely photograph submitted by 'Stargazer' and weather forecaster Judith Ralston was misspelt as Kingnussie.

But as we all know tyops can happen to the best of us – even here at the Strathy!
