Snow gates opened at Tomintoul after long closure

Traffic Scotland reported this morning that the snow gates south of Tomintoul at the Bridge of Leachd on the A939 had been reopened.

The gates were closed just after five o'clock yesterday afternoon and remained shut for some hours.

Traffic is flowing in all directions today but temperatures remain low on all local roads.

"Drivers in the Highland region are advised to use caution due to the low temperatures affecting driving conditions."

Gritters remain at work across the region.
