A9 road marking improvements in Badenoch will take eight weeks

Essential road marking and road stud improvements on the A9 single carriageway between the Drumochter duals and the Crubenmore duals are set to begin on Monday, February 5 for eight weeks.
The project will involve removing and replacing the white lines and road studs for a total of 17km of the A9, creating safer journeys for motorists.
The works will take place from 7pm to 6am each night.
Two-way traffic lights with a convoy system will be in place on the A9 single carriageway, heading north from the dual section at Drumochter towards the dual section at Crubenmore.
Junctions through the scheme will either be controlled manually by an operative or by a third traffic light signal to allow traffic to join the A9 safely. There will be no works on Saturdays or Sundays.
All improvements will be completed by 6am on Saturday, March 30, weather permitting.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s north west representative said: “This project on the A9 will help address defects and greatly improve safety by enhancing the visual impact of road markings and road studs for motorists.
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these projects.
