A9 closed near Daviot after collision involving multiple vehicles

Police Scotland have advised that the A9 has been closed in both directions near Daviot, after responding to a crash involving multiple vehicles this morning.

The incident was reported at 7.13am.

UPDATE (8.03am): The northbound lane is passable with care.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are currently dealing with a multiple-vehicle collision on the A9 near to Daviot, just south of Inverness. The road is currently blocked in both directions.

"Officers are on scene and will try to clear the road as quickly as possible.

"There is a lot of black ice this morning, please drive with care."

A Traffic Scotland statement read: "The A9 Daviot is currently closed in both directions due to a road traffic incident. Road users are advised to use an alternative route and expect longer than normal travel times."
