Record-breaking £2 million charity shop sales total delights Highland Hospice chiefs

KIND-hearted Highlanders have been hailed for their generosity by delighted charity bosses after their cause raised £2 million through its shops in just a year – its biggest ever annual total.
The Highland Hospice reported the huge annual sales figure across its 15 shops – with the huge total helping to cover a quarter of the charity's hospice care across the region.
Retail manager Susan Cooper said: “We are delighted to have reached this incredible milestone for the first time ever.
"It really reflects the current cost of living crisis – more and more people now realise that we offer high quality, designer and vintage items at a fraction of the price of buying new. Customers are aware that they don’t have to compromise on the quality that ‘new’ items have to offer.”

She added: “I would personally like to thank all our staff and volunteers for all their hard work and dedication. We forever thankful to all our donors and supporters. The people in the Highlands are such advocates of the work that Highland Hospice does as a charity and want to support us as much as they can.”
Highland Hospice has charity shops in Alness, Tain, Inverness, Nairn, Forres, Grantown, Aviemore, Fort William, Portree, Beauly, Dornoch, Wick and Thurso, and is always looking for good quality donations and volunteers to help keep them running.
