Strathspey stalwart retires

One of Strathspey Thistle’s stalwarts has decided to call it a day. Centre-half and former captain Craig Ireland has decided to end his playing career.

New manager Brian Ritchie said: "We are disappointed that Craig is gone, but he is not quite going to have the same amount of time on his hands anymore.

"He has been a gentleman and an absolute pleasure to deal with. I hope that further down the line he is able to come back and help us because I will certainly take anything Craig has to say on board.

"He has been a great ambassador for Strathspey Thistle."
