Traffic diverted through Badenoch after triple car smash





The A82 remains closed between Spean Bridge and Fort William following an earlier RTC , with some traffic being diverted to Dalwhinnie.

Motorists are having to go via Crainlarich, the A85 to Perth, the A9 to Dalwhinnie, the A889 and the A86 - and vice-versa.

This diversion route is 161 miles.

Road Policing Officers are appealing for information following the serious road crash on the A82 near Fort William today.

The incident happened between the Spean Bridge and Aonach Mor around 5.30pm and involved three cars - a white Audi A3, a black BMW 5 Series and a white Toyota Corolla.

A man and woman, both aged 21, were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries.

A woman was also taken by air ambulance to Raigmore Hospital with serious injuries.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with suspected road traffic offences.

The road is closed in both directions and officers are asking motorists to avoid the area.

Road Policing Sergeant Angus Macleod said: "I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw these vehicles being driven before or during the crash to contact us.

"If you have a dash-cam, please check back and see if there is any footage that could assist our investigation
