Strathspey and Badenoch schools re-opening





After some unscheduled days off due to the heavy snows this week, most of the strath's schools were gettting back to normal this morning (February 12).

But both Gergask Primary and Nursery at Laggan remained closed, Highland Council confirmed.

Throughout the region one secondary school and five primaries remained shut today due to the weather conditions, with some 150 pupils and children affected.

The full list is:

Durness Primary: Closed (bad weather)

Gergask Primary: Closed (bad weather)

Gergask Primary Nursery: Closed (bad weather)

Kinlochbervie High School: Closed (no water/heating/power)

Kinlochbervie Primary: Closed (bad weather)

Scourie Primary: Closed (bad weather)

Scourie Primary Nursery: Closed (bad weather)

Strathdearn Primary: Closed (bad weather)

Strathdearn Primary Nursery: Closed (bad weather)

Total schools closed

Secondary schools: 1 (48 pupils)

Primary schools: 5 (98 pupils)

Nurseries: 3 (16 children)
