Weather warnings with Highland road conditions report





A Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice is effective until 10am this morning.

A further yellow warning for snow and ice has been issued for Saturday (11) from 3pm to Sunday (12) 6am.

Maps of Highland Council’s gritting routes by priority and policy are available online

Today's road condition report for Badenoch and Strathspey, issued at 7.28 confirms dry roads with negative temperatures thorughout the area.

Some routes are being treated this morning due to snowfall overnight, but there are no known overnight issues.

On surrounding Inverness routes the surface is mostly dry this morning with high salt levels.

"No known issues reported overnight."

There are several schools with delayed openings and one school closed in the Highlands today due to wintry weather, but none in the strath.
