Today’s roads conditions report in Highlands focuses on the big thaw

With temperatures rising now, as predicted, the problem on Badenoch and Strathspey roads is damp.

After bouncing back from almost -20C in some glens, today’s roads conditions report from Highland Council, issued at 6.34am, confirmed positive temperatures throughout the area with wet roads due to snow and ice melt.

“No winter action is required and there are no known overnight issues.”

On neighbouring Inverness and Nairn routes the reports were the same.

Schools are all back today after last week’s two days of disruption.

Ready Scotland aims to make Scotland more resilient to emergencies:

“We know that disruptions can happen at any time and we’re here to help - Ready Scotland.”
