Planning for the pond life

A LOCAL beauty spot has been surveyed ahead of planned improvements to the area.

Tilhill Forestry Woodland and Sustainable Forest Management carried out the investigation of Sanquhar pond and woods on behalf of Moray Council. Members of Sanquhar Working Group, who have been clearing invasive species, felling dead timber and upgrading the path network at the site, were on hand with advice and information.

Tilhill's David Hardie said: "I was asked by Moray Council Lands and Parks to put a management plan together for Sanquhar. Volunteers working on the area have done a remarkable job over the years but we aim to give all stakeholders a broader view via a forest management plan and structured details of works."
