The NHS Highland area has now seen a cumulative total of 5180 coronavirus cases.

One more case was recorded in both the Western Isles and Shetland, but there was no rise in cases in the Orkneys.

Nationally there were a further 268 diagnoses in the latest 24-hour period.

That equated to 1.7 per cent of tests taken.

No new deaths were recorded of people with a recent positive test of Covid-19.

Four people were in intensive care yesterday with the virus, while 70 people were in hospital with recently confirmed coronavirus.

NHS Grampian today had three new cases of Covid-19, as the outbreak in Moray appears to be getting back under control, while NHS Tayside had 14 new cases.

A total of 3,045,152 people have now received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 1,669,469 have received their second dose.
