Highland A9 crossing has 'caution' warning





Traffic Scotland has issued another warning over high winds on the Kessock Bridge at Inverness.

The alert was issued at 11.45pm last night.

"Northbound and southbound road users are advised to use caution crossing the A9 Kessock Bridge due to high winds currently affecting driving conditions."

The warning as the Met Office issued a Yellow status for the Highlands, but this time not over wintry bursts such as the two days of heavy snow in Badenoch and Strathspey but over rain:

"Further persistent rain, heavy at times.

"Further rainfall accumulations of 20 to 40 mm are expected quite widely and over some hills and mountains 60mm may fall."
