Headteacher to return to old post at Grantown Grammar School
Grantown Grammar School headteacher Claire McGonigal is to return to her post after an interim position in Inverness.
Inverness High School head John Rutter stepped down from his role on October 23 with Mrs McGongial filling the void.
Vikki Forrester has now been announced as his full-time replacement at the Highland capital school.
A letter to parents and carers of pupils from Fiona Shearer, Highland Council's south area education and learning manager, states: "We are hopeful that Ms Forrester will be able to take up her post early in the new year.
"I am sure you will all join me in welcoming her to the school."

A Highland Council spokeswoman said that Mrs McGonigal would return to her old school at some point early in the New Year.
Mr Rutter had been at Inverness High School for more than nine years.
At the time of his resignation, he said: "There's a whole host of circumstances, some of them are personal, that have all come together at the same time, so I think it's probably time to move on."
Mrs McGonigal had written on social media to parents at the time when she accepted the temporary role in Inverness, with Scott Wilson becoming acting head in her place.
She told parents and pupils: “Grantown Grammar School is without a doubt the best school I have taught in and it is a privilege to be the headteacher.
“However, I am following the advice I give to our young people that sometimes you need to step outside of your comfort zone and accept new challenges.
“I will keep you updated with further information regarding this secondment as details are confirmed, but would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have given both the school and me personally."
