A Grantown care home is to hold ‘taster days' for anyone thinking about a career in the care sector.

Lynemore, part of the Parklands Care Homes group, hopes the move will give local people an insight into working in a care home.

Kim Dixon, Manager of People and Culture at Parklands, said: “The pandemic has really shone a light on the important work that carers do, and more and more people are considering care as a career.

"The good news is that for anyone thinking about a care role, there are ample opportunities at Lynemore in Grantown, with cash incentives of £250 for carers.

“As people live longer, there will always be a role for care professionals and, with training and support, many people starting out now could find themselves in management roles in the future.

“Hopefully these taster days will give people interested in the care sector an insight into what it's like to work in a care home, and give them an opportunity to see our care professionals at work."

Visitors will be escorted at all times by Parklands’ employees.

A Parklands spokesman said the sessions will begin the weekend starting October 17 and run for a month, subject to interest.
