The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has despatched crews to the scene of a reported road accident at the Lynwilg junction of the A9.

Reports are that the incident has taken place on the northbound lane near the junction just south of Aviemore.

It is not known yet if the road is being closed but we will have more on the incident as the situation becomes clearer.

The A9 Dual Action Group is reporting: “A9 north bound Aviemore reports of a multi-vehicle RTC. All emergency service are on route will update as soon as possible.”

Traffic Scotland reports that the accident happened at 7:20pm

The latest post says: “The A9 at Kincraig, south of Aviemore, is currently restricted in both directions due to a road traffic incident.

“Motorists are advised to use caution on approach.
