The consultation deadline for a major energy renewables infrastructure project in the Monadhliath has been extended by a fortnight.
The Melgarve Cluster project will enable three proposed wind farms to connect to the National Grid.
SSEN Transmission recently released further information on its large-scale plans via two virtual exhibitions.
The energy giant is responsible for progressing applications for the energy infrastructure including underground cables and overhead lines to connect new energy development to the grid.
The virtual consultation will now close on Friday 11 February.
A spokesperson for SSEN Transmission told the Strathy: “We’ve extended our online consultation for our proposed Melgarve Cluster Project by two weeks to allow more people to share their views.
“As a stakeholder-led business we’re committed to working with the local communities in which we operate and welcome all comments on our proposals.
"Once the consultation closes we’ll review all comments and any feedback will be considered.
“The Melgarve Cluster project will allow three proposed wind farm developments in the area to be connected to the GB transmission network, allowing the transportation of clean energy to the UK grid and facilitating the transition to net zero emissions.
“We’d encourage anyone who is interested in learning more about our proposals to review our online consultation and get in touch with their thoughts.”
Feedback and responses from several stakeholders has been received through the online consultation sessions held in December and January or passed to project teams directly.
