CairnGorm Mountain to make TV appearance
Cairngorm Mountain is to become the latest attraction in the strath to take a starring role in front of the cameras.
Two young children from Sunderland will appear in an episode of the new series of the BBC children’s programme My First, filmed at the resort.
The programme introduces young children to their first experiences, and this episode, filmed on the ski slopes in 2017, explores Esther and Eva’s first experience of skiing.
It is due to be to aired on the CBeebies channel (Freeview channel 202) on Monday (March 5) at 5.35pm.
The 11-minute programme is entitled My First Ski Trip.
In this episode total beginners are seen getting their very first ski lesson and learning how to master a snowplough amongst other things.
Most of all, the children have a great time and gain in confidence on the snow.
Janette Jansson, general manager at CairnGorm Mountain Ltd, said: "We were delighted to host the children and film crew for the filming of their very first ski trip.
"We actively encourage young children to come and try snowsports while they are such eager learners, and CairnGorm Mountain is the perfect place for children to get their first experience of the slopes.
"We hope that this episode of My First will inspire children and parents to find out more about skiing in Scotland."
Paul McCoy, series producer from MCC Medial limited, the show creators, added: "It was great working with the team at CairnGorm Mountain who were amazing and helped get our little participants with learning how to ski.
"It was a really fun show to film and the crew loved it as much as the children. Thanks to all staff who helped make our filming such a success."
The young stars are following in the footsteps of many professional skiers and snowboarders, who trained at CairnGorm Mountain as youngsters.
CairnGorm Mountain offers skiing and snowboarding over a range of terrains, including a dedicated beginners’ area outside the day lodge.
