Badenoch MSP seeks responses to gender consultation
Kate Forbes MSP has urged her constituents to respond to a Scottish Government consultation about proposed reforms to the Gender Recognition Act.
A previous government consultation on the issue attracted 15,500 responses – which included discussion over new arrangements for dealing with applications for changing a person’s legal gender recognition as well as the minimum age at which applications for changing gender recognition could be made.
The consultation is available to complete at the Scottish Government website:

The deadline for responses is March 17.
Ms (SNP, Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch) said: “Understandably, reforming the Gender Recognition Act has initiated a lot of debate and questions. It is important that the Government consults on these proposals and I commend them for doing so.
“I would strongly encourage as many people as possible in this constituency to make their views known as this is an important opportunity to do so.
“The debate has been very difficult for many people, but this consultation allows people to express their views on the key issues.”
