Are the 'likes' on social media posts getting you down?

Police in the Highlands have issued some important information about the response to 'likes' on social media.

As part of its #KeepXmasSafe online campaign, officers share information on the social pressures linked to the social media judgment button.

In a post on Facebook, officers said: "#KeepXmasSafe Online

"What Parents/Carers need to know about Social Pressures linked to 'Likes'.

"Over the festive period we are sharing information for parents and carers to help our young people #KeepXmasSafe whilst online."

Offering people a link to a certified programme to keep children safe online, it asked parents to follow through to a website that can be access by clicking here.

It also published two information posters to help parents and other adults understand the risks to young people's mental health.
