Kingussie were victorious in the P5 and P7 competitions and will represent Badenoch and Strathspey in the Scottish finals at Fort William on Saturday, February 25.

The P5 competition was extremely close with a potential three way tie depending on the result from the final league match.

In the end, it was the Red and Blues who qualified with 10 points, while Alvie were second on seven points.

Gergask were third on six points, though the Laggan team were unbeaten in their four group games.

Newtonmore ran the other schools close and were unlucky to only gain four points from their games.

Grantown were new to the competiton but did not disgrace themselves with four determined and gutsy displays.

The P7 competition was secured by Kingussie who were unbeaten and did not concede a goal throughout.

Strathy shinty writer Dave Fallows said: “Their performance was outstanding as the team oozed a skill level and ball control abilities many senior teams would envy.

“This squad would seem to be invincible and certainly look likely to be the overall winners come the finals.”
