Strath youngsters enjoy shinty coaching





The Camanachd Association and Active Schools have been running fun days for primary school children in the strath.

The coaching was held at the Craig Maclean Centre in Grantown and features players from Carrbridge and Grantown primary schools.

The coaches were Lawrence Bellini from Strathspey Shinty club and Russell Jones, Highland Shinty Development Officer.

There was also a fun day at the Badenoch Centre which was attended by youngsters from Kingussie, Newtonmore and Alvie primaries.

Coaches on the day were Davie Anderson, of Kingussie, Michael Ritchie, from Newtonmore and Mr Jones.

The latter said with tongue in cheek: "Both sessions were to take place outside but due to our beautiful summer weather they were switched to indoors."
