Stopper Kenny Ross says it’s a pleasure playing behind Blue and White wall
Newtonmore keeper Kenny Ross has heaped praise on his defence which is currently the meanest in senior shinty.
The Blue and Whites recorded yet another cleansheet on Saturday with a 2-0 Mowi Premiership win over Lovat at The Eilan.
The latest shut-out means they have now gone an incredible 468 minutes without conceding a goal.
Ross told the Strathy: “It's been an absolute pleasure to play behind the lads the last five games.
“To be perfectly honest I've not had a lot to do in the games such has been the boys’ form and keeping my own concentration is key as it can be easy to switch of when you're not getting a lot to do.

“It's hard to single out anyone in particular and everyone knows Steven Macdonald, Rory Kennedy and Daniel Sloss's pedigree in the game but Ritchie Irvine and Tristan Ross have been excellent as well when called upon.
“The whole team is contributing at the moment but the management and senior players will make sure we keep our feet firmly on the ground and keep working hard.”
‘More dominated the game and they made the breakthrough a minute after the hour when Iain Robinson touched an Arron MacBean corner from the left to substitute Euan Dingwall who despatched the ball low by stand-in keeper Greg Matheson into the corner of the goal.
Matthew Sloss made sure of the win, finishing from inside the D with just 11 minutes remaining to secure a fifth successive victory.
Newtonmore are now fourth in the table and will be looking to be rock solid at the back again when they host Glenurquhart in the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup second round this Saturday.
