Kingussie's grand slam stars are honoured at club awards

Kingussie Camanachd held their annual dinner dance and awards night at the town’s Duke of Gordon Hotel on Saturday evening.

It crowned a successful day after the Red and Blues had earlier lifted the Bill Macpherson Plate with a good win over Caberfeidh.

The Red and Blues’ first team manager Iain Borthwick and club stalwart Dallas Young were on hand to present the prizes which reflected the 2022 Grand Slam season.

The Chieftain’s Trophy for club volunteer of the year went to Michael Clark who has dedicated himself to making the Dell shinty’s best playing surface.

Savio Genini picked up the award on Michael’s behalf.

The Dallas Family Trophy for the club’s most committed player of the year went to playmaker Ruaridh Anderson.

Hayden Taylor Ramsay and Cameron Bremner were unable to attend the awards evening so they received their honours at the recent Liz Young Sixes in Aviemore.

Kingussie’s youth players were also recognised with the Dallas Young and Iain Borthwick quaich for under-14 player of the year going to Hayden Taylor Ramsay and the Borthwick family trophy for under-17 player of the year given to Fergus Sherlock.

The Johnny Cruikshank Trophy for young player of the year went to Cameron Bremner who enjoyed a season to remember after joining the club from Glenurquhart.

The Clark Family Trophy for second team player of the year went to Jordan Reid.

The Gow Family Trophy for first team player of the year was presented to defender Rory MacKeachan.

The Andy Anderson Trophy for players’ player of the year went to Mowi national player of the year Roddy Young.
