Eoin Baikie came off the bench to score twice during the final 10 minutes in Kingussie’s 3-0 win against Beauly at The Dell.

His manager Iain Borthwick noted Baikie’s contribution, saying: “Eoin did really well. He’s been training hard this preseason, and he is so good in and around the penalty area.”

Roddy Young broke the deadlock on 12 minutes, sweeping home Lee Bain’s pass.

With 10 minutes to go, Baikie’s first followed good work from both Lee Bain and Cameron Bremner and a minute from time, he was in the right place to turn home a rebound off the keeper after Thomas Borthwick’s shot was saved.

Borthwick remarked: “It’s always good to get that first win of season, especially considering most of boys haven’t played any friendly matches this year and we had four players out.

“It was a tough game, maybe a bit scrappy at times, but we did enough to win and our fitness at this stage of the season pleased me.”
