Kingussie’s prized forward Dylan Borthwick hailed by boss
Kingussie made it nine wins from their opening 10 Mowi Premiership matches when they beat Lovat 4-1 at Balgate on Saturday.
Dylan Borthwick’s return to the fold has had a huge impact for the Red and Blues this season and his goals were again the difference as he put his side back in front on 40 minutes before making it 3-1 a couple of minutes into first half stoppage time.
It remained that way until the final minute when Borthwick put gloss on the win as he completed his hat-trick.
Kingussie manager Iain Borthwick was full of praise for his prized forward Dylan Borthwick, saying: “It was a really good team performance and Lovat keeper Stuart MacDonald had a lot of good saves to make, mostly from Savio Genini.
“Dylan is such a big asset this season, and he links up really well with Savio.

“Ruaridh Anderson was just brilliant throughout the whole game though; he was all over the pitch.”
The sides meet again this Saturday, this time in the Artemis Macaulay Cup semi- finals at Braeview Park in Beauly.
The Macaulay was the only trophy to escape Kingussie’s clutches last season and Iain Borthwick said: “I know Lovat will have players back this week, but we’ll concentrate on ourselves and it’s a chance to reach another final.”
Matheson said: “We’ll regroup through the week, and we’ll have boys coming back.
“We’ll throw everything at Kingussie to try and win the game, but we understand that it will be a difficult task.”
