Kingussie go into the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup final on a high after winning their top of the table clash.

The Red and Blues can clinch a fourth successive Mowi Premiership title if they beat Skye Camanachd in Portree at the end of the month.

The Red and Blues came from two goals down to defeat nearest challengers Caberfeidh 5-2 in their noon throw up at the Dell on Saturday.

Craig Morrison struck twice to give Cabers a 2-0 lead at the break.

But Kingussie came out all guns blazing from the restart and remarkably, they were 4-2 ahead within nine minutes of the restart.

Savio Genini set the ball rolling when he halved the deficit almost straight from the throw up.

James Falconer pulled Kingussie level on 48 minutes.

Genini got his second on 51 minutes with the goal coming when a corner was floated into the box.

Falconer got his brace on 54 minutes.

Thomas Borthwick completed the scoring three minutes after the hour.

Caberfeidh’s Craig Morrison was denied a hat-trick following an incredible goal line clearance.

Kingussie manager Iain Borthwick said afterwards: “I wasn’t happy at half-time. We needed to keep ball on deck, play it wide and basically pull the finger out.

“It’s not that we played that badly in the first half but we just kept giving the ball away.

“We lost it in midfield for a bit and I thought we were sloppy when defending for their goals.

“Cabers didn’t know what hit them at the start of second half and we won every challenge and played really good shinty for a 15-minute period.

“Our defence was solid, and they just couldn’t get ball from us. I think our fitness was better at the end too whilst they ran out of steam.”
