Kingussie forward Ruaridh Anderson is desperate to get back to playing - even more so with a first cup final of the season now confirmed.

The current holders won back through to the WM Donald MacTavish Cup Final after scoring twice just after the hour to beat Lochaber 2-0 at the Dell at the weekend.

Roddy Young’s low strike put the Kings ahead on Saturday and Savio Genni’s delicate lift over stand-in keeper Brennan MacDonald, from the left of the D just minutes later completed the win and set up a final meeting with Lovat.

Anderson was, however, reduced to watch from the sidelines again after picking up an ankle injury in the Artemis Macaulay Cup 7-2 away win over Kinlochshiel at the end of last month.

He told the Strathy: “ It’s never nice watching from the sidelines although the rest and physio work are definitely helping.

“I managed to do a little bit of running towards the end of last week and am hoping to progress this at training this week which will give me a better indication of how close I am to returning.

“We’ve got some big games coming up and it’s hard to not have one eye on them but it’s a long season so we want to get it right and not rush anything too soon.”
