Kingussie have been handed a home tie against either Lovat or Kilmallie as they hunt their first silverware of the season in the MacTavish Cup.

The Camanachd Association staged the semi-finals draw earlier this afternoon with pupils at Glenurquhart Primary School involved.

The Red and Blues will host either Lovat or Kilmallie on May 14 in their bid to win the trophy for the first time since 2011.

While in the other semi-final, inaugural winners Skye Camanachd will welcome four time champions Caberfeidh.

The class was kitted out with t-shirts, bags and water bottles emblazoned with the sponsors cottages.com's new MacTavish Cup logo as a reward for their help in completing the draw.

Before it took place, the school team put on an exhibition of shinty in a 20 minute match.

Camanachd Association chief executive Derek Keir said: “It was great to be able to involve a community steeped in shinty history by holding the draw at Blairbeg Park.

"Our thanks go to Glenurquhart Primary School for making the draw possible and also for their excellent display of shinty technique and skill.

"Everyone is looking forward to two exciting semi-finals as well as the culmination of this great competition on June 11.”

cottages.com's Luke Smith said: “Cottages.com are committed to getting out into the communities that we serve and we have done that by having draws all across the north of Scotland including

visiting Newtonmore, Skye and Drumnadrochit.

"It is incredible to see the benefits of our investment in shinty through the opportunities created for young people.

"We wish all teams the best of luck for the next round."
