The Jags were unable to add to their second win of the season last week at Wick as they lost at home to Huntly last night.

The visitors came from behind to win 4-1 at Seafield Park.

Jacob Lockett gave the Grantown men a surprise lead midway through the first half but two Michael Dangana penalties and further goals from Brodie Allen and sub Robbie Foster made things comfortable for the away side.

Meanwhile Buckie Thistle's Highland League title bid is back in their own hands after a missed penalty costs rivals Brechin City victory at Fraserburgh.

Brechin travelled to Buchan, six points behind leaders Buckie with three games in hand and a significantly better goal difference.

Jags were praying for their nearest rivals to slip up and City did just that, as they failed to make a scoring breakthrough despite being awarded a late penalty in a Bellslea Park stalemate.

Botti Biabi's kick was saved by home-keeper Joe Barbour and the match finished 0-0, handing Buckie a huge boost.

Brechin also had Ewan Louden sent off just before full time.

The result means that if Graeme Stewart's side win their four remaining games including their final day clash with Brechin at Victoria Park, they will be crowned champions.

Elsewhere in the Highland League last night, Brora Rangers became the first team to clock up 100 league goals for the season during their 6-1 derby win over Wick Academy.

Ross Gunn's opener brought up the ton and gave the Cattachs a slim interval lead.

The floodgates opened after the break with Tony Dingwall (2), Andy Macrae, Ali Sutherland and Jordan MacRae all netting for the Dudgeon Park side while James Mackintosh replied for Wick.

Clach's Lewis Mackenzie scored the 1000th league goal of the Highland League season to seal his team's 3-1 success at home to Banks O' Dee.

Mackenzie netted late on after James Anderson and Harry Hennem had given Clach a 2-0 lead which was reduced by Kacper Lewecki's solitary strike for Dee, who also missed a late penalty when Mark Gilmour's kick was saved.
