Forrest makes it a double in Cromdale
BOTH the men and women's records were broken at the Haughs of Cromdale 10K Road Race on Sunday despite the blustery conditions.
Terry Forrest (Cairngorm Runners), returning from his home in Yorkshire, completed a double for the weekend.
He won the Newtonmore 10 Mile Race on Saturday and then set a new record at Cromdale of 33 minutes 15 seconds the next day. He beat his own course record by 38 seconds.
Gemma Cormack (Inverness Harriers), from Macduff, improved the lady's race record by some four minutes in a time of 39 minutes 46 seconds.
Mairi Crawford was the previous ladies record holder with a time of 43 minutes 45 seconds.

Organiser John Diffey said: "Both the previous times were set in the inaugural race in 2015.
"The ladies winner this year, Gemma Cormack therefore improved the record by just under four minutes which is a great achievement and it was good to see Terry Forrest break his own time.
"Runners from the Hunters Bog Trotters Club had come from Edinburgh and had entered the Newtonmore 10 mile race the day before, and the 'hangover mile' on the same day as the Cromdale Race."
The club originated from Edinburgh University and is named after the area below Arthur's Seat.
The race raised £292 for well needed funds for Cromdale Hall.
Mr Diffey said: "Members of the Cromdale Hall Committee who hosted the event were pleased with the turnout and the spread of distances from which runners had travelled in order to compete."
