Away days for Badenoch pair in Macaulay Cup

The first round draw for the 2020 Artemis Macaulay Cup will see Newtonmore travel to Lochaber and holders Kingussie head to Kilmallie.

The draw was made at the Camanachd Association AGM in Fort William, by Les Kinvig and Davie Thomson from the Macaulay Association.

The Artemis Macaulay Cup Final will take place at Mossfield Park, Oban on August 22, next year.

Kingussie won their first major trophy in five years when they came from behind to beat Oban Camanachd 3-2 to lift the cup at the Oban venue.

The opening round matches to be played on May 2 are: Kyles Athletic v Aberdour; Oban Celtic v Ballachulish; Oban Camanachd v Bute; Inveraray v Glasgow Mid Argyll; Lochaber v Newtonmore; Fort William v Kinlochshiel; Kilmallie v Kingussie and Caberfeidh v Lovat.
