There has been big demand at Aldi in Aviemore for the Prime drinks.

There was a queue of youngsters at the doors of Aldi in Aviemore as the latest internet sensation hit the shelves at a bargain price.

Aldi is selling the much in-demand Prime Hydration Drink for just £1.99.

The viral hydration drink has been created by two YouTube stars KSI and Logan Paul.

It is being sold in Aldi stores nationwide from today and local kids were not hanging about, getting up early in the school holidays to get their hands on some Prime when the store's doors opened at 8am.

One customer told the Strathy there had been lots of youngsters in the store at Aviemore retail park snapping up the bottles and expected them to be gone within the next half-hour.

The drink is one of Aldi's Specialbuys – and as with all Specialbuys as the retail giant says once they’re gone, they’re gone.

An Aldi spokesman said: "The supermarket is expecting high demand so a purchase limit of one of each variant per customer has been set to ensure as many people as possible get the opportunity to buy the product."

The drink, which is 10 per cent coconut water, contains electrolytes and B vitamins and BCAAs, has zero sugar and around 20 calories per bottle.

Aldi shoppers can choose from three different flavours – blue raspberry, lemon and lime, and ice pop.

The Sun reports the 'drink is so hot among youngsters that desperate parents have travelled more than 500 miles just to get their hands on a bottle' and one savvy punter was said to be selling a 'rare' bottle for a whopping £1000.

Prime's popularity grew after social media stars Paul and KSI promoted the drink around high-profile celebrity boxing bouts in the UK.

The pair have been making names for themselves in the ring in recent years.

Originally, Prime was only sold through Asda stores in the UK but now Aldi has got in on the act.
