'Wonderful' words festival at Kingussie

There was a full house this morning at the second day of Kingussie's Festival of Words.

The poetry workshop at Iona Gallery was a great success and more events are lined up for the rest of the weekend.

Especially excited is poet, performer and facilitator Katharine Macfarlane: "I'm really looking forward to the creative writing session tomorrow afternoon.

"It will be great seeing the stories and poems taking shape."

She told the Strathy: "I have lots of lovely Angus Og material with me for the morning session and looking forward to hearing everything at the evening event.

"What a fantastic programme the organisers have put together.

"It's wonderful to have something like this happening in the highlands!"

Macfarlane is set to talk about Ewen Bain's cartoons of Angus `Òg, demonstrating how story-telling can be visual as well as oral.

Her event is set to run from 11pm until noon tomorrow in the Iona Gallery at Duke Street.

You can check out the other events on the festival website.
